Asian Games: Sugihara 1st Japanese winner in women's individual all-around

NAGOYA - Veteran Aiko Sugihara became the first Japanese winner in the Asian Games women's artistic gymnastics individual all-around on Tuesday as the host also won gold in swimming and fencing.

A two-time Olympian from Osaka Prefecture, the 27-year-old Sugihara retired from top-level competition in 2022 but returned the following year and won the floor exercise gold at the world championships in Jakarta last October.
