NAGOYA - Japan ensured its first medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Friday after beating China 97-77 in the men's basketball semifinals.
Forward Ren Kanechika scored a game-high 19 points at Aichi International Arena as Japan reached the final against South Korea on Sunday, when the host will look to better its best Asian Games finish of silver, achieved in 1951 and 1962.
