Takumi Hojo won Japan's first gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in men's triathlon on Sunday, the first medal competition at the quadrennial continental multisport event.
Hojo clocked 52 minutes, 56 seconds at the Gamagori City Triathlon Venue, nine seconds ahead of China's Zhang Xirui, as Japan won men's triathlon for the fifth straight time. Arlan Zhanabay of Kazakhstan was another six seconds back in third.
