Debuting sport teqball wins fans after late inclusion to Asian Games

NAGOYA - Japan's mixed doubles pair Akinori Wase and Yuina Sakamoto fell short of gold in teqball, but the newly added sport, combining elements of football and table tennis, proved a winner with spectators on its Asian Games debut.

Wase and Sakamoto fell 12-4, 12-5 in the Aichi-Nagoya Games final to Thailand's Dejaroen Phakpong and Wongkhamchan Suphawadi, who dominated rallies on a table similar to one used in table tennis but curved downward toward each end.
