JOC chief ready to revive Winter Olympics bid

TOKYO - Japanese Olympic Committee chief Seiko Hashimoto has stressed the importance of hosting major international multisport events as she expressed readiness to revive a stalled bid for the Winter Olympics.

"It is the JOC's mission to bring international sporting events to Japan. It is important that people feel confident that Japan can successfully host them," Hashimoto said in a recent interview with Kyodo News ahead of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
