Death toll climbs to 7 after typhoon brings heavy rain to Japan

TOKYO - The death toll from Typhoon Dujuan rose to seven Tuesday with five others still missing after heavy rain triggered landslides and flooding in Tokyo and nearby areas a day earlier, Japanese authorities said.

As the typhoon passed near the Pacific coast, intense rain inundated houses and temporarily cut off electricity to about 58,000 households early Tuesday in Chiba Prefecture.
