NAGOYA - North Korean sports minister Kim Il Guk arrived in central Japan on Thursday to attend the Asian Games in Aichi Prefecture, which will officially open this weekend, marking the first visit by a North Korean Cabinet minister in about eight years.
Kim left Pyongyang on Tuesday and traveled to Japan via China. He last visited Tokyo in 2018 for a major international sports meeting and is expected to attend the opening ceremony on Saturday.
