N. Korean athletes arrive in Japan for Asian Games

TOKYO - North Korea's national football team arrived Friday at Kansai International Airport in Osaka Prefecture, the first batch of the country's delegation for the Asian Games to begin in central Japan later this month.

The North Korean delegation for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games running from Sept. 19 through Oct. 4 is expected to total around 180 athletes and officials, making it the largest contingent Pyongyang has ever sent to a sporting event in Japan, according to a source at the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, also known as Chongryon.
