Woman with impaired vision killed by train after falling onto tracks

An 89-year-old woman with impaired vision died Monday when she was hit by a train after falling from a platform and onto tracks in Osaka, police said.The incident happened around 9:20 a.m. when the woman fell while walking along a platform at Kami-Shinjo Station, police in the western Japan city said, adding the woman was carrying a certificate indicating her visual impairment.According to eyewitnesses and surveillance camera footage, the woman fell after gradually veering toward the tracks as she walked.
