TOKYO - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 rattled northeastern Japan on Friday, with no tsunami warning issued, the weather agency said.
The focus of the 8:22 p.m. quake was off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture at about 46 kilometers underground, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
