Lucky loser Yuichi Sugita's memorable run at the Barcelona Open came to a halt on Friday, when he was beaten 6-1, 6-2 by fourth seed Dominic Thiem. Sugita, ranked 91st in the world, knocked out ninth seed Richard Gasquet of France to reach the third round, where he beat seventh seed Pablo Carreno Busta.
