Power cut stops Tokyo trains, passengers ill as air conditioning fails

A power cut suspended multiple train services in Tokyo on Tuesday morning, with nine passengers taken to hospital after becoming unwell as the air-conditioning system on their train failed, a railway operator and rescuers said.The 8:30 a.m. power outage left eight trains stranded between stations on the line run by Keisei Electric Railway Co., as well as the Toei Asakusa Line and the Hokuso Line.In total, 15 people in their 20s to 60s complained of symptoms such as numbness in the hands and feet and dizziness, the Tokyo Fire Department said.
