TOKYO - Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako were captured sharing a lighthearted moment inside the Cat Bus from the popular film "My Neighbor Totoro" during their recent visit to Ghibli Park in central Japan, a photo released by the Imperial Household Agency showed Monday.
The imperial couple visited Aichi Prefecture, home to Ghibli Park, for two days through Sept. 20, partly to attend the opening ceremony of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
The image shows the two smiling from inside the life-size Cat Bus and, according to the agency, was taken by an aide using a smartphone handed over by the emperor.
Another photo shows the couple in a popular set-up recreating an iconic train scene from "Spirited Away," where visitors can sit next to a figure of No Face, a mysterious spirit dressed in black and wearing a blank white mask.
