Japan, U.S. reliable allies with strong bond after WWII: Takaichi

TOKYO - Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said Friday that Japan and the United States have become "allies bound by very strong ties" based on mutual trust after World War II, following a U.S.-China summit that noted the two nations' wartime cooperation.

Takaichi, meanwhile, told reporters that she has "no comment" on the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington on Thursday.
