WASHINGTON - U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday touted their friendship, as they spent hours together at the White House, but apparently made limited progress on thorny issues that fuel rivalry between their countries, such as trade and artificial intelligence.
Trump told reporters he had a "great meeting" with Xi. Yet neither Trump nor his administration released any concrete agreements as of near midnight, after a raft of elaborate ceremonies capped with a state dinner joined by Jensen Huang of AI chip titan Nvidia Corp. and other American technology leaders.
