NAGOYA - Chubu Electric Power Co. on Friday submitted necessary documents to withdraw its applications for regulatory screening to restart two of the reactors at the Hamaoka nuclear power plant in Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan.

The decision comes after an investigative committee of outside lawyers concluded earlier in the month that the utility manipulated seismic data during screening for the restart of the Nos. 3 and 4 reactors at the power plant.
