North Korea fires short-range ballistic missiles toward Sea of Japan

North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan on Sunday, its second such firing this month, prompting Tokyo to lodge a stern protest with Pyongyang, Japanese and South Korean authorities said.

Pyongyang fired short-range ballistic missiles from an area around Wonsan, Kangwon Province, at around 3 p.m. and 5:50 p.m., according to South Korea's military.
