China warns against militarism, historical revisionism at security forum

BEIJING - Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun on Wednesday warned against militarism and historical revisionism at a major international security forum in Beijing, taking a veiled swipe at Japan amid bilateral tensions over Taiwan.

"We must bear in mind the lessons of history and remain highly vigilant against any latent manifestations of hegemony, militarism and historical revisionism," Dong said in his speech at the Xiangshan Forum, China's version of the annual Shangri-La Dialogue security gathering held in Singapore.
