Japan lower house speaker Mori addresses Ukraine parliament

KYIV - Japanese House of Representatives Speaker Eisuke Mori delivered a speech in the Ukrainian parliament in Kyiv on Tuesday, condemning Russia's prolonged invasion and renewing a pledge to support Ukraine's efforts toward a peace deal.

The Ukrainian government said it is extremely rare for a senior Japanese official to address the country's parliament. Mori arrived in Kyiv on Monday, marking the first trip to Ukraine by a speaker of Japan's lower house since Russia's full-scale invasion began in 2022.
