Japan lower house speaker Mori visits Ukraine

KYIV - Japanese lawmaker Eisuke Mori arrived in Kyiv on Monday, marking the first trip by the country's House of Representatives speaker to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

The visit by Mori, regarded as one of Japan's leading politicians well-versed in Ukraine affairs, is also the first by a speaker of Japan's lower house in 15 years, following a trip in 2011 by Takahiro Yokomichi, who has since died.
