HONG KONG - Three former organizers behind Hong Kong's annual Tiananmen Square vigil were on Friday sentenced to up to seven years and three months behind bars under a sweeping national security law imposed by Beijing on the former British colony.
Two leaders of the now-disbanded Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China -- former chairman Lee Cheuk-yan, 69, and former vice chairwoman Chow Hang-tung, 41 -- were last month convicted of inciting subversion by calling for an end to "one-party dictatorship" in mainland China.
