Japan to provide $3 mil. to flood-hit Nepal as humanitarian aid: minister

TOKYO - Japan decided Tuesday to provide $3 million to Nepal as humanitarian assistance after massive flooding and landslides near the country's border with China late last month, Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said.

The assistance -- in the areas of food, water, sanitation and vital supplies -- will be implemented through the World Food Program, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Organization for Migration, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
