LOS ANGELES - Shohei Ohtani returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers' lineup on Monday following a four-day absence due to multiple health concerns and went hitless in a 6-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
Leading off as the designated hitter, Ohtani flied out to left field in his first at-bat, struck out twice and drew a walk at Dodger Stadium.
Ohtani, who has been slumping at the plate since mid-August, sat out four straight games beginning Thursday while dealing with discomfort in his left knee, neck and right biceps.
Despite his comeback to the lineup, the two-way star is unlikely to pitch again this season, according to manager Dave Roberts.
