NAHA, Japan - The media was given a preview of the reconstructed hallways and "large dragon pillars" of Okinawa's Shuri Castle on Friday prior to the completion of work for the public unveiling in November, after a large part of the complex was destroyed by fire in 2019.
The two "daichuryu" pillars, shaped like dragons and situated on either side of the front of the bright red main hall, are in the final stages of carving to welcome visitors as they enter the castle.
