TORONTO - Tomoyuki Sugano pitched 6-1/3 innings of three-run ball to earn his ninth win of the season as the Colorado Rockies beat the Cincinnati Reds 10-3 on Saturday.
Sugano (9-4) allowed six hits, including two home runs, while striking out three at Coors Field.
The 36-year-old right hander exited in the seventh inning in his return to the mound after being placed on the injured list due to back spasms earlier this month.
In other Major League Baseball action, Seiya Suzuki collected two hits as the Chicago Cubs defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-2.
Batting second and playing right field, Suzuki recorded two singles in the fourth and eighth innings to finish 2-for-4 at Wrigley Field.
Elsewhere, Munetaka Murakami went 1-for-3 for the Chicago White Sox in their 1-0 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
