MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - Shohei Ohtani led off with his 17th home run of the season as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged the Minnesota Twins 2-1 on Monday.

Ohtani sent the second pitch of the game over the right-field fence at Target Field and went on to finish 1-for-4 with the one RBI. The Dodgers doubled their lead on Freddie Freeman's solo homer in the sixth inning.

Ohtani's 414-foot (126-meter) blast was his sixth leadoff homer of the season and the 30th of his Major League Baseball career.

The Japanese two-way star remained the overall vote leader in the latest MLB All-Star Game balloting released Monday.

Ohtani has received 2,310,735 votes as a designated hitter for the National League in the July 14 Midsummer Classic at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park.

In other MLB action, Kazuma Okamoto hit his 17th homer of the season as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Houston Astros 4-2.

Okamoto homered to left center to tie the game 1-1 in the second and finished 2-for-3 with one RBI at Rogers Centre.
