TOKYO - Ozeki Kirishima continued to impress in his return to the second-highest rank at the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament on Tuesday, improving to 3-0 in a fiercely contested battle with young talent Fujinokawa.
The Mongolian-born grappler, who was re-promoted after winning the March championship, shares top billing at the 15-day tournament with fellow ozeki Kotozakura following the injury withdrawals of yokozuna Onosato and Hoshoryu, as well as Ukrainian ozeki Aonishiki.
