Western Digital maintains arbitration move over Toshiba's chip ops

Western Digital Corp. said Friday it will not drop its move for arbitration to block Toshiba Corp.'s attempted transfer of interests in their joint chip production operation, following Toshiba's latest step to counter its U.S. partner's bid to stop the transfer.The U.S. company made the comment after Toshiba said earlier in the day it will retake the interests in the joint operation that it moved to its Toshiba Memory Corp. unit after the unit was spun off from the parent company in April.
