Japanese Emperor Akihito will be called "emperor emeritus" and Empress Michiko "empress emerita" following his abdication in April, the Imperial Household Agency said Monday.Their Japanese titles to be used after the abdication have already been decided as "joko" and "jokogo," respectively.
