Japanese Olympic chief says will clear name in corruption inquiry

Japanese Olympic Committee President Tsunekazu Takeda, who is under investigation by French authorities, told the JOC executive board on Tuesday he will work to fight bribery allegations linked to Tokyo's successful bid to host the 2020 Games.At a board meeting in Tokyo, Takeda apologized for causing trouble and said, "From now on, I will follow procedures and solemnly work to clear suspicion."Takeda is under investigation over some $2 million of payments made by Japan's bid committee in 2013 to now-defunct Singapore-based consultancy Black Tidings, headed by Tan Tong Han.Tan is known to be…READ FULL ARTICLE
