Giant rugby ball monument on display at Kumamoto Airport

A rugby ball monument weighing around 500 kilograms was set up Friday at Kumamoto Airport in southwestern Japan as the country is set to face Romania in a test match next month.The Japan Rugby 2019 organizing committee installed the ball -- approximately 2.2 meters long and around 1.4 meters wide -- at the gateway to Kumamoto Prefecture that will provide the venue for the test match.The ball, made of reinforced plastic, is supported by a 0.5-meter-high base.The organizing committee also installed another ball monument in Fukuroi, Shizuoka Prefecture, in central Japan, where Japan will be pi…READ FULL ARTICLE
