Bali volcano status raised to top alert, airport closed

Indonesian authorities raised the alert status of an ash-spewing volcano on Bali Island to the highest level on Monday due to increased activity that may lead to a major eruption, forcing the resort island to close its airport.In a statement, the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation said the status has been raised to Level 4 as activity at 3,142-meter Mt.
