Speed skating: Kodaira sweeps 500, 1,000 at World Cup

Japan's Nao Kodaira on Friday won the women's 500- and 1,000-meter races at the speed skating World Cup.The wins boosted her total World Cup victories to 14, breaking the Japanese women's record of 12 held by Tomomi Okazaki. Kodaira also triumphed in the women's 1,000 in the opening round held in the Netherlands earlier this month."Unlike Okazaki-san, who stacked up her wins little by little, I've been able to win a lot in the past two years," Kodaira said.
