Two memos by Albert Einstein on life and happiness, written during his stay in Tokyo in 1922, sold for a total of $1.8 million at auction Tuesday in Jerusalem.Einstein gave the two hand-written memos in German to a Japanese messenger in lieu of a tip while he was staying at the Imperial Hotel, shortly after he was informed by telegram he would be awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in physics for his services to theoretical physics.The physicist told the messenger it was possible the memos would be worth much more than a standard tip in the future, according to Winners Auctions, a major auction ho…READ FULL ARTICLE
