Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Tuesday corrected answers he gave to Diet committees last month regarding when he became aware that a university run by his friend had applied to open a new veterinary department.During an ad hoc session of an upper house committee Tuesday, Abe reiterated he first became aware of the plan on Jan. 20, when Kake Educational Institution's project was approved, revising his previous answers that he had learned about it when the school operator submitted an application to the government.
