A golden shogi set priced at about 30 million yen ($268,000) was unveiled Wednesday for display and sale at a department store, amid an ongoing boom in the Japanese chess-like board game following the recent exploits of a 15-year-old prodigy.
The exhibition through next Monday at a Takashimaya department store in Osaka also showcases a 2-meter tall piece gilded with around 1,700 gold leaf sheets.
