Nissan taps China operations head as next CEO in leadership revamp

Nissan Motor Co. said Tuesday it has appointed Makoto Uchida, senior vice president in charge of China operations, as its next CEO, in a leadership revamp following Hiroto Saikawa's resignation last month after he admitted to receiving an inappropriate bonus.Japan's second-largest carmaker by volume also named Ashwani Gupta, chief operating officer of alliance partner Mitsubishi Motors Corp., as chief operating officer, and Senior Vice President Jun Seki as vice COO to support Uchida.
