Next president of U.N. General Assembly eager to reform Security Council

The U.N. General Assembly's next president on Wednesday took up the hotly debated issue of Security Council reform, saying it is time to restructure the powerful body to better reflect the current reality."There is a high degree of accord that the time is up to transform the Security Council into a 21st century body," Slovakia's Miroslav Lajcak said in his acceptance speech after being declared the next in line to head the body by acclimation.He will assume his post in September, taking over from Fiji's Peter Thomson to lead the 72nd session.
