Golf: Japan's Mamiko Higa takes U.S. Women's Open lead with record round

Japan's Mamiko Higa entered the record books Thursday with the lowest round carded in a U.S. Women's Open debut, shooting a bogey-free 6-under 65 that gave her a one-shot lead.The 25-year-old, who tied for the third-lowest round in U.S. Women's Open history, finished the opening day at the Country Club of Charleston one stroke ahead of American amateur Gina Kim and Germany's Esther Henseleit."This round has cleared away some recent feelings of frustration.
