TOKYO - Five Malaysian nationals have been arrested on suspicion of attempting to smuggle a total of around 5 kilograms of cocaine from Malaysia, with an estimated street value of around 120 million yen ($758,000), hidden beneath the soles of their shoes at Tokyo's Haneda airport, police said.

Police suspect the five may have been recruited for the illicit work, as questioning revealed that they were financially strapped and that they had communicated with someone they did not know via a messaging app with high anonymity.
