ATLANTA - Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto said Monday he is determined to deliver a win in a crucial Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves.

With the best-of-five series tied 1-1, Yamamoto is set to make his first start of the 2026 postseason Tuesday in Atlanta opposite Braves ace Chris Sale.

"I think it will be an important game that could affect the momentum of the series," said Yamamoto, the reigning World Series MVP. "I just want to do everything I can to help us win."

The Japanese pitcher faced Sale in Atlanta in August and allowed one run in 6-2/3 innings but took the loss as the left-hander threw a complete-game shutout.

"Of course I was frustrated, and I remember it well, but tomorrow is a new game," Yamamoto said. "I just want to stay focused."

Shohei Ohtani worked out indoors ahead of the game. The four-time MVP has not homered since Aug. 18 and has struggled to find his best form while dealing with multiple injuries.

Manager Dave Roberts said he is considering moving Ohtani down in the batting order after he spent most of the season hitting first or second.

"If I do, I would obviously have the conversation with Shohei to explain why," Roberts said. "Every conversation I've had with him is whatever's best for the team, he's all-in on."
