TOKYO - A Fukushima company that once had virtually no expertise in operating machinery remotely is now setting out to develop AI-powered robots for use in the high-radiation environments that remain a major challenge in decommissioning the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
BeABLE, based in Hirono, Fukushima Prefecture, hopes to draw on its experience of completing difficult decommissioning work as it moves into the development of remotely operated robots.
