Synopsis

There were once boys who dreamed of an “Age of Electricity.” The protagonist, Kihachi Sakamoto, writes his imagined electrical inventions into the 20th Century Electrical Catalog. He vows to make those dreams a reality together with his admired older brother, Seiroku Sakamoto. But Seiroku brings the catalog along with him to war—and never returns.

As time passes, Kihachi encounters Inako Momokawa, the daughter of a sake brewer. Through this encounter, the 20th Century Electrical Catalog, thought to have been lost, reappears before him. But another seeks it—Yosuke Mizoe, the heir to a powerful steam conglomerate, who is pushing forward a political marriage with Inako. To stand against him, Kihachi and Inako begin their own challenge—staking everything on their dream of electricity.

Why does Yosuke pursue the 20th Century Electrical Catalog? And what is the “secret” known only to Yosuke and Seiroku?

As the catalog draws them together, the dreams of boys and girls begin to move once more—

This is a story of <regeneration>.
