ROGERS, Arkansas - Japanese golfer Yuna Nishimura completed a wire-to-wire victory at the Arkansas Championship on Sunday, capturing her maiden LPGA Tour title.
Her 21-under-par total of 192 saw her finish five strokes clear of compatriot Akie Iwai, Chanettee Wannasaen of Thailand and South Korea's Chun In Gee, who tied for second at 16-under at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas.
Beginning the final round with a five-shot lead, Nishimura carded an eagle, five birdies and two bogeys in a 5-under 66. Her eagle on the par-5 14th helped secure the victory.
"I feel like I've finally done it. The last two years have been extremely difficult, so I'm very happy that one of my dreams has come true," said Nishimura, who has competed on the LPGA Tour since 2023.
"I missed a lot of cuts, so I'm very surprised to have won at this point."
