TOKYO - Major Japanese shipping company Nippon Yusen K.K. plans to introduce its first ship powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system around May 2027, launching it for a day cruise in Tokyo Bay.
The initiative is part of the company's efforts to promote decarbonization. The new propulsion system significantly reduces noise and vibration, improving passenger comfort.
