Japan to hold 1st expert panel talks on anti-espionage measures on Mon.

TOKYO - The Japanese government said it will hold the first meeting of an expert panel on Monday to discuss measures to boost intelligence capabilities including counterespionage legislation.

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, known for her hawkish views on security, will attend the planned meeting, at which the creation of a foreign intelligence agency is also likely to be among the agenda items, the government said Friday.
