KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Munetaka Murakami went 1-for-4 with an RBI for the White Sox and Seiya Suzuki hit a solo home run for the Cubs as both Chicago teams won their Thursday games to advance to the playoffs.
Rookie Murakami plated a run with a groundout in the second inning for a 6-0 lead before getting a single in the fourth as the White Sox whipped the Kansas City Royals 9-1 at Kauffman Stadium, reaching the postseason for the first time in five years.
