TOKYO - The yield on the newest issue of Japan's 10-year government bonds rose to 3.115 percent at one stage on Friday, its highest level since August 1996.
The yield on the benchmark long-term issue, which move inversely to prices, rose on inflation concerns due to rising crude oil prices as well as on overnight gains in U.S. Treasury yields. It ended at 3.075 percent, unchanged from Thursday's close.
