TOKYO - Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will travel to the United States from Monday and address the U.N. General Assembly in New York, the government said, with arrangements underway for meetings with foreign leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump.

The four-day trip was announced by Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara at a regular press conference in Tokyo on Friday. According to diplomatic sources, arrangements are being made for Takaichi and Trump to meet Tuesday, when both are scheduled to address the annual diplomatic event.
