LONDON - If you've ever seen Japanese horror novelist Uketsu -- who wears a stark white mask and full black bodysuit -- chances are you'd never forget him.
Although his true face and identity remain a mystery, he is garnering attention after the English version of his book "Hen na E" ("Strange Pictures") was shortlisted for the 2026 Crime Fiction in Translation Dagger award before narrowly missed out on it.
